OK 99 Pond Creek Bridge, Osage County

Built in 1935, this 160-foot long K-truss bridge carries OK 99 across Pond Creek in northern Osage County. The above picture shows the longer approach and the original portal end of the bridge. The approaches have concrete "fence" rails with panel details in the uprights.

Below, a close shot of the repaired portal and the K-truss. This 8-panel long type of K-truss is a widely used design throughout the state. This bridge features a 24-foot wide deck with full-width 12-foot  wide lanes.

Below, a closer view looking through the bridge and of the portal. These older bridges with lower clearances get a lot of abuse from tall vehicles.
