This fine two-span riveted Parker truss bridge spans the Caney River in northern Osage County. In fact, it is only about a mile or so south of the Oklahoma-Kansas State line near Elgin, Kansas. Built in 1948 by R. R. Tway Inc., this bridge is unique for its late 1920's styling. It is unfortunate that more bridges couldn't have been built with such substantial plaques.
Above is a diagonal side shot of one of the spans. the spans are 160 feet in length with all-concrete approaches pf unmeasured length. These spans seem to be in very good condition and see only light use.
Below is an overview of both truss spans.
